Junior National Championship

  • Bar Monkey Gorey Arklow Road Gorey, Wexford Ireland (map)

We are delighted to announce our Junior Calisthenics Championship this year!

Where: Bar Monkey Gorey

When: April 5th 12-5pm

We are really excited to welcome you all to The Concrete Jungle for what promises to be an amazing day for our young athletes! Giving them a platform to showcase the skills they have learned while part of the club! We will also have some of our Irish Athletes who will be representing us at the World Championships here for demonstrations, to give the next generation something to aspire to!

We have three different events on the day, information for each can be found below! We can’t wait to see you all there but if you need any further information just get in touch with us! To register scroll down to our registration form below and we look forward to seeing you on the day!

7-10 LEVEL 1

This competition will include a variety of movements that the kids will cover in class. Each participant will be part of a team ( their class mates ) and will be aiming to accumulate points for their team by taking part in the various challenges!

These include:

  • Hanging

  • Chin-Up

  • Push-Up

  • Bridge

  • Frog Stand

Each participant will take part in these exercises and be either timed for holds or their reps will be counted. Each rep or second will be a point for their team. All points will be counted up and the team with the most points will be crowned Level 1 Champions!

Level 2 and Teen Competitions

While there will be two more competitions based on age, the format for both will be the same.

Each participant will be part of a team ( their class mates ) and they will perform a routine ( max 2 minutes ) in order to gain points. Each teams points will be added up at the end and the group with the most points accumulated will be crowned Level 2 and Teen Champions!

In order to gain points each participant will demonstrate a routine that showcases their skills! This is an opportunity for them to showcase what they have learned and express their own individuality and creativity.

To compete in latin translates as ‘to strive together’. These are the outcomes that we hope for from events like this. Competitions and days like this are just opportunities to bring everyone involved in the club together and showcase the progress everyone is making under the calisthenics umbrella. We want everyone participating to look forward to these events as an opportunity just to showcase what they have learned and acts as a reward for the hard work they put in to learning the sport. We can’t wait to see them all there!
